| its finally summer project time! we fly out in 9 hours and arrive in country at 3 am thursday! praying for on-time flights, and smooth travels all the way!
now i'm off to tackle my final "to-do" list... pack my toiletries, my carryon and a couple books, finish writing thank-you notes, send some support checks in, write a couple emails, and leave rent checks for my roomie!
| fixed myself sloppy joes for supper.
i guess what they say is true... there is a first time for everything! i'm hungry and want/need a quick meal!
its even ground beef sloppy joes- family, aren't you proud of me?
(i rarely buy or eat ground beef at home- but it was marked way down at kroger!)
and i got my federal tax return today and celebrated with a new pair of running shoes! you can see them here ! (actually thats the only way i could go buy them right now- and the rest of the $$ goes straight into savings!)
now for those sloppy joes!
| and i just hosed down the inside of my oven with lemony fresh "fume free" oven cleaner...
gonna fix some hot chocolate, read a while, and get to bed early so i can get up early in the morning and go yard-saling in the ritzy neighborhoods... i'm hoping i find some side tables for the living room and some uniquely shaped (ie round or oval or intricately carved) picture frames for a home decor project i am working on.
| i'm so glad you have finally graced us with your presence in all your glory! i walked a long circuitous route around my neighborhood marveling at all the azaleas, rhododendrons, and dogwoods in full bloom. the sun finally came out for a bit today after a week of being drowned by clouds and misty moisty wet sloppy greyness!
i think this song- winters gone- by josh ritter captures how glad i feel that winter is, in fact, gone! it took a little longer to get here, but its finally here, and i, for one, am very glad!
here are some of the words i just love from this song!
"... hello blackbird! hello starling! winter’s over, be my darling! a long time coming but now the snow is gone..."
